GXM is seeking a Configuration Management Specialist Lead to perform and lead configuration management and change control functions in support of Naval software development programs. The selected candidate will lead efforts to establish maintain and control configuration baselines across multiple projects and ensure that technical changes are properly documented reviewed approved and implemented in accordance with Department of Defense standards and program requirements.
The candidate will work closely with software development teams engineering personnel and customer stakeholders to lead source code control configuration library management and change request processes including participation in and coordination of Change Control Boards (CCBs). This role requires applying configuration management best practices to support technical documentation reporting and compliance activities throughout the software development life cycle. This is a full-time exempt position that may be performed remotely with short-term travel as required by the project. This position will be based out of Fredericksburg VA with occasional travel to Dahlgren VA.

Roles and Responsibilities
Lead configuration management activities for Naval software development projects
Perform configuration item identification and baseline definition
Manage source code control configuration libraries and change request processes
Track and manage configuration-related action items
Develop and maintain Department of War manuals and specifications
Prepare and contribute to technical reports
Collaborate directly with customers and engineering personnel
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact directly with customers and engineering personnel
Ten (10) years of experience serving as a logistics planner configuration manager or process improvement manager
Experience performing configuration item identification baseline definition source code control CM library use and change request management
Demonstrated experience using one or more Configuration Management (CM) tools to manage configuration baselines source code control and change requests
Experience managing technical baseline engineering change proposals configuration control board
Experience developing and maintaining Department of Defense manuals and specifications for hardware firmware and software
Experience writing technical reports
Desired Qualifications
Experience supporting Naval or other Department of Defense software development programs
Prior military service or experience supporting Department of Defense or military operations
