The Division of General Internal Medicine (DGIM) has an opening for a board certified or eligible physician interested in primary care or hybrid primary care and inpatient work to join the faculty which includes more than 40 full time faculty and over 100 clinical/part-time faculty across Rhode Island Hospital (Primary Site) and The Miriam Hospital. The DGIM provides comprehensive and compassionate patient care to all without exception; we lead by teaching and mentoring the physicians of tomorrow and by advancing medical knowledge and medical education with meaningful research and scholarship.About the Job- Schedule can vary with teaching inpatient rounding and dedicated patient panel
- Choose between an anticipated weekly schedule of 6 clinical sessions 2 sessions precepting in resident clinic or a hybrid schedule that would include 6-8 weeks of inpatient rounding per year
- Traditional outpatient primary care or hybrid position with inpatient rounding
- Inpatient ward attending responsibilities care for 13/- 3 patients with assistance of residents and medical student no codes or rapids procedures are optional
- Clinical schedule 45 minutes for new patients 30 minutes for hospital follow ups and patients >80 15 minutes for general follow up and sick visits
- Structured mentor program for new attendings
- Brown Academic appointment with the opportunity to teach medical students and residents lecture and participate in research
- EMR with a commitment to ongoing optimization
- Approx 10 patients per clinical block
- Diverse patient population (culturally and economically)
- A dedicated medical assistant per provider
- Work in a team-oriented environment with RNs Care Managers Pharmacists primary care behavioral health psychologists and Advance Practice Providers
