Note:As a member of our exempt workforce there could be occasions when a commitment beyond the normal workweek may be required.
Salary information: $70000 to $75000
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Members of the faculty are responsible for the instruction of the curriculum and the assessment of student learning on-ground at the Long Island Campus in the Department of Foundational Sciences. Faculty also advance the mission of the institution through their work in the areas of research and scholarly activities and citizenship in accordance with the parameters of the Faculty Handbook.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Full-time faculty position with teaching responsibilities in non-cadaveric computer based gross anatomy and physiology. Additional opportunities in microbiology and histology.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
Responsible to the Foundational Sciences Department Head for all aspects of the educational program.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The faculty consists of all individuals in the employ of Northeast College holding academic rank and engaged in instructional scholarly and professional or academic service activities for the College. These activities include but are not limited to: laboratory classroom online and health center instruction; work of professional librarians; course and curriculum development; research; participation in student advising enrollment management functions College governance; and service to ones profession.
Activities in this area are typically project-oriented: foundational science or clinical research authorship of a book or journal article and scholarly media productions within ones area of expertise.
Citizenship takes many forms depending upon individual interests and all faculty are encouraged to lend their talents to benefit the College community the professional and/or academic community and the local community.
QUALIFICATIONS:
METHODS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Yearly written evaluation of performance in the work areas of teaching research and scholarly activities and citizenship by the faculty supervisor in accordance with the Northeast College Faculty Handbook.
