Blank Childrens Hospital a service of UnityPoint Health - Des Moines is completelydedicated to meeting the unique health care needs of children. Blank Childrens is a 108-bed environment that embraces and encourages families to be a part of their childs healing and recovery. Everything from equipment to decor is designed specifically for children.
Blank Childrens is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Practitioner to join our well-established team specializing in child protective services. The role provides a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of vulnerable children by working alongside experienced providers in a multispecialty setting.
- Joining a team of Advanced Practitioners in the well-established STAR Center which houses a Child Advocacy Center and 3 specialized clinics
- New free-standing building in West Des Moines
- Averaging nearly 800 medical exams per year
- Seeing 1400 children annually in clinic
- Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive medical evaluations for children who are victims of sexual assault physical abuse and neglect
- Provide specialized care for drug endangered children
- Work closely with Child Protective Services law enforcement and social services to ensure a coordinated response to child maltreatment as needed.
- Role is 10 hours week with the ability to pick up more shifts as needed
Qualifications
- MD or DO
- Board Eligible or Board Certified
- Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of Iowa
- Eligible to work in the United States
