Job Summary

JOB SUMMARY: The Onsite Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all safety activities for a designated project site. This role ensures compliance with company safety programs regulatory requirements and project-specific safety plans. The position works closely with the Site Manager employees and contractors to promote a safe and compliant work environment. Project is expected to last 24 months.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as the primary safety representative for the project site.
  • Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable safety regulations.
  • Conduct safety orientations for employees and contractors.
  • Perform regular site safety inspections and audits document findings and corrective actions.
  • Investigate incidents near misses and safety concerns; prepare reports and recommendations.
  • Partner with the Site Manager to address safety risks and support safe work practices.
  • Provide safety coaching guidance and training to employees and contractors.
  • Maintain required safety documentation and records for the project.
  • Communicate regularly with the Corporate EHSQ Manager on site conditions incidents and progress.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in construction or industrial safety management.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety best practices.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with management employees and contractors.
  • Ability to be present onsite and respond to safety issues as they arise.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • OSHA 30 or equivalent safety certification
  • Prior project-based or onsite safety management experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Regularly required to walk stand and move throughout the project site for extended periods.
  • Ability to climb stairs ladders and work platforms as needed.
  • Ability to bend stoop kneel crouch and reach while performing site inspections.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 2550 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to work in outdoor and industrial environments including exposure to varying weather conditions noise dust and moving equipment.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) including hard hat safety glasses steel-toe boots hearing protection and fall protection as required.
