KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directs the strategic planning development and implementation of program.
  • Collaborates with representatives from private government and international agencies.
  • Represents the program in various national and international fora.
  • Conducts research designs new initiatives writes publishable articles and papers collaborates with others and designs programs.
  • May supervise staff.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:

Core responsibilities

  • Project delivery (Africa portfolio): Plan and run day-to-day operations for projects in Francophone West Africa (Burkina Faso and Côte dIvoire); support work in Sierra Leone Senegal and Ghana. Own workplans trackers and on-time deliverables.
  • Partner coordination: Serve as a forward-facing point of contact with NPHIs Ministries of Health partners (e.g. Africa CDC WAHO) and funders (e.g. U.S. CDC). Schedule run and document meetings; drive follow-through.
  • Scopes of work & budgets: Co-develop SOWs and budgets with NPHIs; track milestones expenditures and reporting; surface risks early and propose fixes.
  • Workshops & trainings: Adapt in-person workshops to virtual formats; help facilitate IANPHIs Staged Development Tool workshops and other workshops; coordinate logistics for meetings and conferences.
  • Grants & reporting: Draft and assemble inputs for proposals donor reports (including U.S. CDC deliverables) case studies and communications; keep contributors on deadlines.
  • Administrative reliability: Keep files organized schedule calls with partners maintain notes from calls and follow-up on action items.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in field related to specific program as indicated and five years program related experience or equivalent combination of experience education and training.
  • Masters degree preferred.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree and 5 years of hands-on program coordination or project management experience preferably in global/public health or international development.
  • Demonstrated experience managing timelines budgets and multi-partner deliverables.
  • Professional French proficiency (written and spoken) sufficient to coordinate meetings draft emails interpret documents and review documents with Francophone partners.
  • Strong writing skills (clear concise action-oriented).

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
