Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated Electrical or Controls Engineering student to support our LiB Division in the commercialization of advanced R&D programs related to lithium iron battery (LiB) manufacturing technologies. This role will bridge R&D and Production Controls Engineering helping transition prototype systems into standardized scalable production-ready automation platforms. The intern will gain hands-on experience supporting high-precision battery manufacturing technologies in a fast-paced innovation-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in PLC and HMI development for new and existing equipment
- Support control panel design electrical documentation and schematics
- Participate in I/O validation system testing and commissioning activities
- Contribute to the standardization of control logic across equipment platforms
- Collaborate with R&D and Production Controls Engineering teams to transition development projects into manufacturing
- Troubleshoot automation and controls-related challenges to optimize system performance
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within LiB manufacturing operations
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Controls Engineering or related field
- Exposure to industrial automation concepts such as PLC programming and HMI development
- Familiarity with motion control systems and industrial communication networks (EtherNet/IP Profinet etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
- Strong problem-solving skills and interest in advanced manufacturing and automation
- Experience with structured programming troubleshooting or data acquisition is a plus
