Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager
We areseekingan Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to serve as the site-level EHS authority supporting manufacturing and operations in a lean fast-moving environment. This role owns the development implementation and execution of EHS programs that protect employees ensure regulatory compliance and scale with the business. The EHS Manager maintains a strong shop-floor presence and partners closely with Manufacturing Operations and Facilities to identify hazards reduce risk and embed safety and environmental compliance into daily operations. This role balances hands-on field engagement with program ownership regulatory interface and continuous improvement leadership.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Safety leadership and OSHA compliance:
- Serve as the siteauthorityfor OSHA / Cal-OSHA compliance including inspectionsregulatory correspondencerecordkeeping and corrective actionmanagement.
- Develop implement andmaintainrequiredsafety programs(e.g. IIPP Hazard Communication Lockout/Tagout Electrical Safety Hot Work Contractor Safety) to support a growing manufacturing operation.
- Develop and leadallsafety training.
- Define andmaintainPPE requirements conduct hazard assessments and ensure properselection training and usage.
- Own emergency preparedness programs including Emergency Action Plans evacuation procedures drills and emergency response coordination.
- Partnerwith Facilities on fire suppression alarm and detection systems.
- Conduct routine shop-floor safetyobservations
- Trackleading andkey EHS metrics and drive proactive riskreduction.
- Leadincidentreportinginvestigationsand root cause analysisforinjuriesfiresspillsnear-misses and emergency events.
Manufacturing & operations risk mitigation:
- Partner closely with manufacturing and operations teams toidentifyhazards and implement engineering and administrative controls.
- EvaluateEHS risk for new processes equipmenttoolingand work centersprior to installation or commissioning toinfluencedesign decisionsand ensure safety requirements are met.
- Maintain a regular shop-floor presence toidentifyhazardsobserveoperationsanddrivecontinuous improvement initiatives.
Hazardous materials & waste management:
- Ownhazardous materialsmanagement includinginventorySDS labeling storagecompatibilitylocationsand quantities.
- Ensure complianthandling andstorageof hazardous materials including flammable and combustible materials.
- Manage hazardous waste accumulation areas manifestsinspectionsanddisposalvendor coordination.

- Manage andmaintainenvironmental permits and programs including hazardous materials hazardous waste air emissions wastewater and stormwater.
- Ensure permit conditions and regulatory requirements are implementeddocumented androutinely verified.

- Trackleading andkey EHS metrics and drive proactive risk reduction.
- Partner with Facilities on facility modifications construction and equipment installations to ensure safety andenvironmental requirementsare addressed.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in environmental engineering safety engineering industrial engineering environmental science or a related field.
- 5 years of EHS experience in manufacturing industrial or regulated environments.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA / Cal-OSHA fire safety hazardous materials managementand environmental compliancerequirements.
- Experience developing and deliveringengagingsafetytraining
- Comfortable acting as the primary EHS owner in a lean organization.
- Hands-on practical and effective at partneringdirectlywith manufacturing teams.
- Experience working with high-pressure and high-temperature machinery especially custom-built equipmentis a plus.
