Job Summary
The Head of People will serve as the senior HR leader responsible for overseeing all human resources functions in Puebla Mexico with primary ownership of employee relations labor compliance in tandem with the legal team regulatory adherence and organizational development.
This role requires deep expertise in Mexican labor law workplace culture internal working regulations disciplinary procedures and compliance risk mitigation. The Head of People will ensure the organization operates in full compliance with federal state and municipal labor requirements while building scalable HR systems that support operational growth and performance.
Responsibilities:
Employee Relations & Risk Mitigation: Act as the backbone of employee relations and company culture; lead compliant disciplinary and termination processes under LFT; oversee severance justified rescissions and risk-managed separations; prevent labor disputes and manage conciliations; mitigate legal exposure through strong documentation and investigations.
HR Operations & Administration: Oversee compliant onboarding and offboarding processes; ensure legally sound probation management; maintain accurate employee records aligned with data privacy laws; manage timekeeping and attendance systems; administer statutory and supplemental benefits; standardize HR documentation and compliance procedures.
Talent Strategy & Organizational Development: Oversee workforce planning alignment with operational teams; maintain structured performance management systems; lead training and compliance education initiatives; ensure all HR policies are aligned with Mexican regulations.
Government & External Relations: Serve as primary liaison for all governmental labor regulations and documentation; coordinate with external labor counsel when necessary; oversee compliance reporting requirements.
Who We Are Looking For:
Education & Experience: Bachelors degree in Human Resources Labor Law Business Administration or related field; minimum 3 years of progressive HR experience in Mexico preferably in Puebla; demonstrated expertise in Mexican Federal Labor Law; direct experience handling labor inspections (STPS) terminations and severance calculations labor disputes and conciliations payroll compliance and statutory benefits.
Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of IMSS and INFONAVIT regulations SAT employer obligations PTU calculations and NOM workplace standards; experience building or managing an Internal Working Regulation.
Language: Fluent in Spanish required; bilingual candidates with English proficiency required.
