KEY OBJECTIVE:
As a key member of the commercial underwriting department you have the role of establishing and maintaining healthy relationships with assigned brokers and managing and growing a profitable book of Commercial Property and Casualty business within the Financial Institutions Industry Practice.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Developing and establishing superior relationships with key brokers and insureds.
Risk selection coverage negotiation and pricing adequacy on renewal business.
Responsibility for profitably managing a renewal book of large accounts with a focus on account rounding and cross-selling.
Qualifications
A minimum of 3 years of property and casualty underwriting experience is required.
Experience underwriting Financial Institutions risks is an asset.
Demonstrated analytical and risk underwriting skills.
Superior negotiation skills proven through established broker relationships.
Strong marketing ability combined with excellent written and oral communication skills.
High level of responsiveness customer service and efficiency when working with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to be innovative and creative in finding solutions.
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment depending on the situation.
Comfort in working in a deadline oriented atmosphere.
