Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Data Architect with 12 years of experience to define and lead enterprise data architecture strategy on AWS. This role requires deep expertise in large-scale data platform design governance frameworks cloud architecture and stakeholder alignment at leadership level. The ideal candidate will drive long-term data strategy establish architectural standards and lead complex enterprise data transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and own enterprise-wide data architecture strategy and roadmap
- Architect scalable secure high-performance batch and real-time data platforms on AWS
- Design modern data lake data warehouse and lakehouse architectures
- Define enterprise ETL/ELT architecture using AWS Glue EMR (Spark) Lambda and orchestration frameworks
- Architect data warehousing solutions using Amazon Redshift
- Establish data modeling standards (Dimensional Data Vault Hybrid approaches)
- Define governance cataloging lineage and access control frameworks using AWS DataZone
- Lead architecture governance forums and conduct design reviews
- Establish best practices for scalability performance tuning disaster recovery and cost optimization
- Define security architecture aligned with enterprise compliance standards
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to Data Engineers and Technical Leads
- Partner with business analytics and executive stakeholders to align data architecture with organizational goals
- Drive innovation and evaluation of emerging data technologies
Required Skills & Experience
- 12 years of experience in Data Engineering / Data Architecture
- Extensive experience designing enterprise-scale data platforms on AWS
- Strong expertise in:
- AWS Glue
- Amazon EMR (Spark)
- AWS Lambda
- Apache Airflow (MWAA)
- Amazon Redshift
- Amazon S3
- Amazon DynamoDB
- AWS DataZone
- Amazon CloudWatch
- Strong command of data modeling techniques (Star Schema Snowflake Schema Data Vault)
- Experience designing enterprise data lake warehouse and lakehouse ecosystems
- Strong knowledge of data governance metadata management and data security frameworks
- Advanced SQL and strong Python expertise
- Experience defining architecture principles standards and enterprise roadmaps
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership skills
- Experience leading large data engineering teams
- Experience working in Agile / SAFe delivery models
Nice to Have
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional
- AWS Data Analytics Specialty Certification
- Experience with streaming technologies (Kinesis Kafka)
- Exposure to multi-cloud or hybrid architectures
- Experience leading enterprise data transformation programs
