Role Information

The school is seeking a reliable proactive and skilled Caretaker to join their dedicated site management team.

Key responsibilities include:

• Carrying out general maintenance repairs and site upkeep

• Opening and securing the school buildings (including key-holder duties)

• Ensuring all areas of the school are safe clean and operational

• Conducting routine inspections and reporting maintenance issues

• Supporting health & safety compliance risk assessments and fire procedures

• Monitoring heating lighting and energy systems

• Managing deliveries moving furniture and setting up rooms for events

• Overseeing contractors and ensuring work meets safety standards

• Responding to emergency maintenance situations promptly

• Supporting large school events parents evenings and community lettings

This role requires a practical hands-on approach and a commitment to maintaining high site standards.

Requirements

• Experience in maintenance caretaking or facilities work

• Good understanding of health & safety and site security

• Ability to carry out repairs manual handling and basic DIY tasks

• Reliable punctual and able to work independently

• Strong communication skills and positive attitude

• Willingness to work occasional evenings/weekends when required

• Ability to carry out physical duties (e.g. lifting moving equipment)

• Commitment to safeguarding and creating a safe environment
