Due to the secure nature of the programme you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This is a full-time onsite position in Basingstoke (no hybrid/remote working).

Your future duties and responsibilities:

In this role you will be instrumental in modernising and maintaining key defence platforms ensuring data collection and analysis systems are secure efficient and future-ready. Working within a collaborative client-site environment you will develop configure and optimise ArcSight SIEM toolsets ensuring the seamless integration of new capabilities to support national security operations. You will also automate release and deployment processes to improve quality and delivery speed while maintaining rigorous standards for documentation and compliance.

Key responsibilities:

Develop & Optimise: Modernise data collection processing and storage systems using tools like Kafka Kubernetes and Zookeeper.

Automate & Enhance: Streamline and automate release processes with Ansible and Azure DevOps for greater reliability and quality.

Configure & Maintain: Support configure and troubleshoot ArcSight SIEM components including filters SmartConnectors and ESM.

Collaborate & Align: Liaise with internal teams to translate security requirements into effective technical solutions.

Document & Support: Create and maintain detailed technical and support documentation for ongoing system improvements.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

You should bring a strong foundation in systems engineering a proactive approach to automation and security and hands-on experience with ArcSight or SIEM technologies. A background in DevOps data engineering or infrastructure modernisation will help you thrive in this environment.

Essential skills and experience:

Proven experience with ArcSight SIEM configuration support and troubleshooting

Strong knowledge of RHEL and Windows environments

Experience automating releases via Ansible and Azure DevOps

Familiarity with Kafka Kubernetes and distributed systems

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Understanding of data engineering (SQL or Big Data)

Scripting ability (PowerShell Bash) advantageous

Active HLC/DV clearance required
