Position Title: Business Development Manager eGovernance
Location: Chennai Tamil Nadu / Budget 15lpa
About the Role
We are looking for a seasoned Business Development Manager to drive eGovernance and Government IT business across Tamil Nadu. The role is responsible for acquiring new government projects managing key public sector accounts and building strategic relationships with government departments nodal agencies and ecosystem partners. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in government sales tender management and IT/eGovernance solution positioning.
Key Responsibilities
Government Business Development
Identify and develop new business opportunities within State Government departments agencies and PSUs
Generate demand for eGovernance and IT solutions aligned with government initiatives and programs
Build long-term relationships with key decision makers and influencers in government bodies
Account Management & Growth
Manage and grow existing government accounts through account mining and cross-selling
Develop account plans and engagement strategies for key clients
Ensure high customer satisfaction and repeat business
Tender & Opportunity Management
Track evaluate and pursue government tenders RFPs and GeM opportunities
Coordinate internally for bid strategy proposal preparation and submissions
Manage end-to-end sales cycle from opportunity identification to award
Sales Pipeline & Revenue Delivery
Build and maintain a robust pipeline aligned with revenue targets
Forecast business and track conversion metrics
Drive closures and ensure achievement of assigned targets
Partner & Ecosystem Management
Collaborate with OEMs IT/Hardware vendors system integrators and nodal agencies
Position integrated solutions aligned with project requirements
Stay updated on technology trends and government digital initiatives
Commercial & Collections
Support contract finalization and commercial negotiations
Ensure timely follow-up for invoicing and payment collections
Required Experience & Skills
810 years of experience in IT / eGovernance / Government sales
Demonstrated success in government project acquisition and tender-based sales
Strong network within Tamil Nadu Government departments and agencies
Understanding of public procurement and tendering processes
Excellent stakeholder management communication and presentation skills
Ability to manage long sales cycles and multi-stakeholder engagements
Education
MBA in Marketing preferred
Language Requirement
Fluent in Tamil (read write speak)
Good English communication skills
Preferred Background
Experience in eGovernance platforms IT infrastructure or system integration projects
Exposure to State Government / PSU accounts in Tamil Nadu
Knowledge of Digital Governance Cloud Data Platforms AI or Cybersecurity solutionsTop of FormBottom of Form
