Job Summary

Are you detail oriented compliance minded and passionate about supporting the early childhood workforce The Texas Early Childhood Professional Development System (TECPDS) Specialist plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy integrity and credibility of early childhood professional records across East Texas. This position serves as a trusted resource for validating training and education credentials resolving documentation issues and safeguarding compliance within TECPDS Registry.

In this role youll work directly with childcare providers and their internal staff providing hands-on technical assistance delivering training on the Texas Workforce Registry and helping programs navigate documentation and reporting requirements with confidence. From investigating complex certifications to mentoring directors and staff on proper system use this position blends compliance oversight with education problem solving and relationship building to support the success of the Texas Rising Star program and the early childhood workforce.

Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. College coursework or a degree in education business technology communications or a related field is preferred. A minimum of two (2) years of full-time experience in a role connected to education or child development is required with preference given to experience in an accredited or Texas Rising Star (TRS) certified program; equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

East Texas Council of Governments is a voluntary association of counties cities school districts and special districts within the fourteen-county East Texas region. We assist local governments in planning for common needs cooperating for mutual benefit and coordinating for sound regional development. Either directly or through our contractors ETCOG provides programs and services for East Texas seniors employers and job seekers. We also build the 9-1-1 emergency call delivery system provide peace officer training and homeland security planning services; and deliver rural transportation services business finance programs grant writing services and environmental grant funding for the region.
