WAREHOUSE & MATERIALS MANAGER
OVERVIEW
Responsible for implementing analyzing and administering the materials movement receiving and inventory control process to include conducting physical inventories and cycle counts.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implements Lean Warehouse Architecture practices for all material storage in the facility.
- Supervises all transactions of physical movements as they occur to maintain a high level of inventory integrity.
- Supervises daily event Kanban production materials picking and movement to ensure proper availability for production.
- Supervises and trains team on a barcode-based inventory management system for all transactions to ensure 100% transactional integrity.
- Supervises daily warehousing activities schedules warehouse workforce and works closely with the operations department to accomplish the operational goals of the organization.
- Leads a diverse workforce in safety housekeeping and waste management.
- Supervises warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements implementing enforcing and evaluating policies and procedures evaluating processes for receiving products equipment utilization and inventory management.
- Accomplishes warehouse operations objectives by recruiting selecting onboarding training assigning scheduling coaching counseling and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations planning monitoring appraising and reviewing job contributions reviewing compensation actions enforcing policies and procedures.
- Coordinates all dock activity assigns warehouse/receiving employees to appropriate tasks and monitors progress throughout the day assists the warehouse crew as required to complete tasks.
- Develops spirit of cooperation and understanding among work groups and encourages employee involvement in operations through leadership and mentoring.
- Reviews warehouse expenses makes recommendations to ensure the efficiency of daily operations and minimize labor and utility costs.
- Implements and maintains an inventory control database system that will provide value-added reports for management.
- Conducts physical cycle counts and reconciles count discrepancies.
- Analyzes investigates and resolves inventory count discrepancies.
- Serves on related committees and participates in meetings as required.
- Actively supports the defined goals and objectives of the company.
- Projects a professional total-quality image in all aspects of this position.
- Performs other duties as assigned or as judgment or necessity dictates.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- 3 years verifiable warehouse experience.
- 1 years of supervisory production planning or supply chain management experience.
- Substantial hands-on knowledge working with an ERP (Microsoft D365 preferred.
- Strong knowledge of computer applications such as MicroSoft Office.
- Knowledge of barcodes and Lean principles.
- Detail oriented and capable of demonstrating analytical problem-solving skills.
- Solid verbal and written communication skills in English bi-lingual Spanish a plus.
- Knowledge of principles of receiving storage stocking picking staging and shipping materials in support of Lenan material handling procedures.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Up to 10% travel may be required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job employees may be required to walk for prolonged periods of time frequently bending climbing rotating squatting reaching kneeling or stooping lifting up to 25 pounds and periods of computer use.
Employees may be frequently exposed to heat/cold heights gases vibration dust chemicals odors dampness fumes and noises.
