Role Overview: Drive a mission-critical migration of legacy Linux desktop applications from Motif/X11 to modern Wayland-based frameworks (GTK Qt or EFL). You will focus on high-performance real-time software and platform stability.
Core Responsibilities
- GUI Migration: Transition legacy systems to Wayland protocols and modern toolkits.
- Systems Development: Design fault-tolerant low-latency C/C applications on Linux.
- Optimization: Enhance performance via multithreading IPC (DBus Shared Memory) and memory management.
- Automation & DevOps: Build CI/CD workflows and deployment routines using Bash Git and Docker.
- Debugging: Profile and troubleshoot complex systems using gdb valgrind and perf.
Key Requirements
- Experience: 10 years in C/C Linux development.
- Expertise: Deep knowledge of Linux internals event-driven programming and desktop architectures.
- Migration Skills: Proven track record moving from X11 to Wayland.
- Tooling: Proficiency with build systems (CMake Meson) Bash scripting and version control (Bitbucket/Git).
- Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Technical Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with low-level graphics APIs (OpenGL/Vulkan).
- Ability to develop custom Wayland protocols.
