Job Summary

Position Title: Director of Daily Operation Services Job Status: Full Time Reports To: SuperintendentFLSA Status: Exempt Amount of Travel: Frequent TravelClassification: Classified Level: District Level Position Date Created: January 2026 Work Schedule: 240 Days Salary Range: $65000 - $85000 (Experience and certification will be considered.) PRIMARY PURPOSE:The Director of Operations Services plans organizes directs and evaluates district-wide operational services including facilities maintenance grounds custodial services and student transportation. This position ensures compliance with all Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) state federal and district regulations while supporting a safe efficient and effective learning environment. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Facilities Maintenance and GroundsEnsure compliance with all applicable ADE state federal and local regulations inspections and reporting requirements including but not limited to boiler inspections fire marshal requirements alarm systems Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) asbestos Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) labor laws workers compensation and safety direct and oversee maintenance and grounds operations to ensure district facilities are safe functional and well and manage the districts computerized maintenance management/work order system (e.g. Operation Hero) including staff training and system implement and monitor a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for all facilities equipment and routine inspection protocols to proactively identify and address maintenance and safety purchasing inventory control and approval of supplies materials and equipment in accordance with district purchasing policies and Arkansas and communicate procedures for the proper use care and maintenance of district facilities equipment and effectively with district leadership administrators and staff regarding operational needs timelines and service evaluate and hold maintenance and grounds staff accountable for performance attendance and adherence to district required and ongoing training is provided to maintenance staff to support safety compliance and confidential personnel records in accordance with district policy and state annual employee invoices and monitor expenditures to ensure fiscal responsibility and budget staffing and resources in the most cost-effective and efficient ServicesDirect and oversee student transportation operations to ensure safe efficient and compliant transportation all buses vehicles and transportation equipment are maintained and serviced in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and ADE/Arkansas Transportation and Facilities Division all required transportation records and train and support employees in obtaining and maintaining Commercial Drivers Licenses (CDL).Supervise and evaluate bus drivers to ensure consistency in discipline routing safety procedures and customer substitute driver coverage and route assignments as scheduling and authorization of district vehicle use for employee and district required and ongoing safety and compliance training for transportation accurate fuel usage mileage logs and dual-signature gas and diesel records; reconcile logs with ServicesDirect and supervise custodial operations to ensure district facilities are clean safe and properly custodial staff equitably based on facility size function and cleaning custodial work schedules comply with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).Establish procedures and approve purchasing of custodial supplies and service quality through regular communication with administrators and site required and ongoing training for custodial custodial employees in accordance with approved position guides and district compliance with district travel and operational DutiesPerform additional duties as assigned to support the efficient and effective operation of the Watson Chapel School :Comprehensive knowledge of applicable laws and knowledge of the ethical guidelines applicable to the position as outlined by professional organizations and/or federal state and local laws rules and to maintain complete and accurate records and to develop meaningful reports from to effectively express ideas orally and in to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitated by work assignments. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or GED of five (5) years of experience in facilities management maintenance transportation or operational of three (3) years of supervisory experience or related knowledge of facilities operations transportation systems safety standards and regulatory Arkansas drivers REQUIREMENTS:Experience in Arkansas public school district of a Class B CDL with passenger and school bus endorsements or willingness to managing budgets purchasing systems and computerized maintenance management SKILLS:Experience with Microsoft Office Google Trans finder Operations Hero access control systems and other relevant systems. PROBLEM SOLVING and SYSTEM THINKING:Understands how various systems and departments interact to achieve district decisions using data and offer innovative solutions to and prioritizes mission-critical issues with alignment of people time and resources. EVALUATION/ PERFORMANCE REVIEW CRITERIA:The Director of Daily Operation Services reports directly to the Superintendent of Schools or his will be evaluated annually by the Superintendent in accordance with Arkansas state law ADE requirements district policy and the approved evaluation system. PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. This position requires frequent standing walking handling and reaching with occasional sitting climbing crawling kneeling bending and squatting. The employee must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. The position requires adequate vision (near distance color peripheral and depth perception) hearing verbal communication and the ability to sense and respond to hot and cold conditions.
