Job Summary

What you should expect in this role:

Must live within commuting distance of Sacramento CA.

Hybrid role requiring onsite work in the Sacramento CA office 2 days per week and remote work 3 days per week.

Willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate business needs and travel as required.

Video cameras must be used during all interviews and during the initial week of orientation.

What were looking for:

10 years of application development and programming experience with 3 years of programming and on-call support coding in a COBOL/MVS/JCL/IBM mainframe environment.

Additional experience:

Minimum of 1 year of experience exposing CICS and COBOL programs as web services via CICS Transaction Server (CTS).

Hands-on experience with CICS TSO CHANGEMAN SQL DB2 Abend-Aid MainView and Xpediter CICS.

Familiarity with Easytrieve and FileAid.

Experience analyzing operational methods and developing computer programs to achieve desired results.

Experience working across all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

Knowledge of principles and techniques of design analysis programming testing debugging implementation and documentation.

Healthcare IT experience including healthcare claims payer systems Medicaid or Medicare is highly preferred.

Description : Your role in our mission:

Apply your skills to support Gainwell as we help clients deliver better health and human services outcomes.

Support COBOL mainframe environment.

Design document and coordinate desired changes to legacy modules.

Develop install and evaluate application software on the mainframe.

Participate in delivering technical architecture solution elements.

Coordinate between application architects and developers to ensure design requirements are accurate and deliver the desired ROI for clients.

Work within a project team to define and develop project requirements deliverables functional specifications and detailed application solution designs for clients.

Analyze and estimate feasibility and compatibility with other programs and projects.

Provide quality control for project deliverables.

Define design and develop highly complex systems requirements. Evaluate test debug and implement application programs in support of client needs.

Assess architecture and current hardware limitations; define and design highly complex system specifications input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.

Plan conduct and technically direct the analysis and resolution of business problems using automated systems. Design install and/or modify operating systems utility software and/or databases to meet business unit and client needs. Analyze design acquire and implement projects for LAN and/or WAN systems.

Design develop troubleshoot and analyze complex software programs that operate successfully with hardware systems.

Perform cost analysis of vendor-supplied products for cost and efficiency. Customize highly complex purchased applications.

Review literature patents and current practices to support business requirements and/or new industry technologies. Prepare reports and recommendations regarding new technology for appropriate personnel.

Provide complex technical consultation on current and proposed systems to other organizations and clients.

Provide leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel.
