Overview
Element has an opportunity for an Engineer to join our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations team the Engineer position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under minimal direct supervision. The engineer position must be proficient in a number of core business and technical skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules code of conduct and company policies and procedures.
Salary: $70000 - $110000/yr DOE
Responsibilities
- Provide technical and engineering leadership and supports the development of new technologies within a local laboratory
- Be accountable for accurate and timely release of testing data to customers including sign-offs of quality control data as acceptable
- Be expected to obtain guidance in non-routine situation testing
- Have the ability to oversee standard and/or routine technical problem solving activities
- Interact with customers on technical issues and questions
- Provide Input and support on business development opportunities with new or existing customers
- Be confident in making both formal and informal presentations on conventional and/or routine testing to a wide range of stakeholders
- Assist in the professional development of novice technicians and engineers within the local laboratory
- Carry out crucial examination and implementation of testing concepts and data
- Utilize an assortment of skill methods procedures and materials in advanced testing analysis
- Be adept at drawing on internal knowledge as well as industry and/or academic resources in reaching testing conclusions

- Have the ability to work on well-defined issues standard and/or routine tests without significant guidance or supervision
- Takes Initiative and in most cases does not need to wait for further instruction
- Able to decide on and implement appropriate testing methods and protocols
- Leads and assigns the work of others when needed
- Analytical/technical knowledge provides a marked impact on overall laboratory technical capabilities and services
- Adapt at managing job priority and work time in accordance with targets/goals set by supervisor
- Under the close guidance of advanced Engineers in the laboratory works on well delineated technical issues including standard and routine analysis
- Defined work experience has impact on the day to day technical decisions made on timely delivery of laboratory testing services and customer support
- Recognized by colleagues within the lab as possessing strong technical knowledge.
- Has a clearly demonstrated ability to apply an array of testing techniques in a rational and practical style to help examine issues and build solutions.
