Job Summary

Job Description:

An Assistant Manager - Mechanical (Power Plant) in a steel companyoversees daily mechanical maintenance operations and repairs of power generation equipment (boilers turbines WHRB) to ensure maximum uptime efficiency and safety. They manage shift teams plan preventive/corrective maintenance manage spare parts inventory and ensure adherence to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Maintenance:Monitor daily operations of mechanical systems (rotating equipment boilers turbines) and perform preventive/corrective maintenance to minimize downtime.
Shutdown Management:Plan and execute annual shutdowns and emergency repairs.
Team Leadership:Supervise shift engineers technicians and contractors ensuring safety compliance and productivity.
Efficiency & Reporting:Analyze plant performance optimize operational costs and report to senior management.
Spares Management:Coordinate procurement of mechanical spares and manage inventory.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Education:B.E./ in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience:6-12 years of experience in operation and maintenance of Captive Power Plants (CPP) or Thermal Power Plants ideally within a steel or similar manufacturing sector.
Technical Skills:Knowledge of hydraulic systems turbines pumps valves and troubleshooting in a high-pressure environment.
Soft Skills:Strong leadership team management communication and problem-solving abilities.

Common Working Conditions

Role Type:Full-time often involving rotational shifts.
Environment:Industrial plant involving on-field monitoring maintenance and coordination with electrical/instrumentation departments.

Key Competencies
