The Redding Rancheria is seeking a Psychiatry Lead Case Manager. The preferred schedule for this position is Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Psychiatry Lead Case Manager will be responsible for training new case managers and providing daily oversight to the Case Management Team in conjunction with the Behavioral Health Director. Oversight includes but is not limited to guidance related to service delivery and documentation maintaining compliance with regulatory standards appropriately managing caseloads and coordinating work schedules. The Psychiatry Case Manager Lead will work directly with Behavioral Health patients and staff to effectively link patients to social services and treatment options. The Case Manager Lead will help patients navigating the healthcare system by providing case management care coordination outreach support and linkage to care.
REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
1. Provide comprehensive end-to-end case management across medical behavioral health educational legal and community systems to ensure clients receive coordinated effective and culturally responsive care.
2. Deliver ongoing client support conducting mental-health assessments and providing crisis intervention to stabilize urgent situations and prevent escalation.
3. Maintains records of treatment funding budget for Native American patients and tribal members. Coordinates treatment planning with the Recovery Department and Tribal Court manages funding authorizations with external treatment facilities.
4. Provides oversight and direction to Case Managers including coordinating and assigning duties to ensure all patient care needs are met and guides staff on how to handle high-risk or complex clinical situations.
5. Works collaboratively with the Behavioral Health Director to monitor daily performance conduct job reviews and ensure completion of patient care and departmental assignments.
6. Gather verify and reconcile clinical documentation and patient records from external facilities to support accurate provider review continuity of care and evidence-based treatment planning.
7. Works with Tribal Court Team to coordinate and schedule psychological evaluations with the psychologist(s) and scores assessments as needed.
8. Facilitate safe and efficient care transitions through proactive communication with clients care designees pharmacies providers and cross-functional teams.
9. Manage and coordinate referrals to internal and external services that improve patient health recovery outcomes and overall wellness.
10. Maintain accurate timely and compliant documentation within the NextGen EHR to support regulatory requirements billing accuracy and high-quality clinical data.
11. Oversee lab results medication issues and referral updates ensuring rapid communication between providers and patients through clinical tasking workflows.
12. Conduct timely follow-up for missed appointments medication requests and ongoing patient concerns to reduce care gaps and improve treatment adherence.
13. Collect detailed patient histories obtain routine vital signs and document findings to support clinical decision-making and diagnostic accuracy.
14. Provide telephone triage addressing patient concerns assessing urgency and directing individuals to the appropriate level of care.
15. Perform DEA-compliant urine drug screenings manage chain-of-custody requirements and prepare specimens for external laboratory processing.
16. Coordinate prepare and submit prior authorization requests for DME and specialty medications ensuring that clinical documentation is accurate complete and aligned with payer criteria.
17. Monitor authorization status and conduct proactive follow-up to prevent treatment delays or insurance denials communicating updates clearly to patients and providers.
18. Assist with authorization appeals compiling clinical justification and evidence-based information to support approval of medically necessary services.
19. Maintain and verify current insurance eligibility for all scheduled patients to reduce financial barriers and ensure accurate coverage.
20. Assist in policy and procedure revisions and updates Behavioral Health job description as needed.
21. Support process-improvement initiatives contribute to workflow optimization and help create departmental reference materials and training resources.
22. Works closely with behavioral health director and supervisor to determine quality and effectiveness of services provided and if necessary develops and implements new processes and procedures.
23. Manages monthly reports to track Behavioral Health department productivity across all RRTHS practices.
24. Participate actively in team meetings special projects audits trainings and support onboarding and mentorship of new team members to strengthen departmental effectiveness.
25. Uphold the highest standards of patient confidentiality infection control and Universal Precautions ensuring regulatory compliance and patient safety.
26. Engage in special projects audits or performance improvement initiatives as requested by leadership.
