Job Summary
Key Objective
The VP Software Engineering is accountable for the leadership development transformation and strategicoversight of the Development Teams. These teams are responsible for working on projects to complete the designdevelopment and testing of IT initiatives in accordance to the business needs and IT standards. The Director will beresponsible for the management of these teams within a functionally oriented IT organizational structure whileworking with complex information technology systems in a fast paced multiple priority environment.
Major Responsibilities
- Leadourteamthrough transformationparticularlyin helping execute AIadoptionintothedevelopment cycle on DevSecOps and process modernization initiatives.
- Leadteamsofdeveloperscomprisingoffulltimecontractandoffshorestaff including hiring coaching and performance management as appropriate.
- Workwithdevelopmentteamstoensuretheapplicationdesignsupportsitson-goingmaintenancearchitecture and security alignment.
- OverseeandensurethesuccessoftheprojectdevelopersastheyexecuteonlargestrategicITinitiatives.
- DrivetheadoptionofAIinthedevelopmentlifecycle (AI-drivendevelopment)therebyincreasingtheteams development capacity and production quality.
- Developandmanageresourceplansinaccordancewiththestrategicdirectionof ITinCanada.
- Developandmanageworkingrelationshipswith theotherITmanagers.
- Managethe ITrelationshipwiththe businessincludingoverseeingthe demandprocessandleadingSteering Committee meetings.
- EnsuretheITdeliverablesalignwithChubbsglobalrequirementsinareassuchassecurityarchitecture and infrastructure.
- Facilitatedeveloperteammeetingsandknowledgesharingsessions.
- Keepapplicationscurrentaddressvulnerabilitiesandmodernizeasrequired.
- Developbestpracticespoliciesandproceduresforthedevelopmentteams.
- Other activities as assigned
Qualifications
- Completionofabachelors degree in information technologycomputerscienceorarelated discipline
- Atleast5yearsexperienceinanITleadershiprolepreferablymanagingIT applicationdevelopmentteams.
- Atleast5yearsexperienceasadeveloperbuildingcommercialqualityweb-basedsystems.
- ExperiencewithAIdrivensoftwaredevelopmentencompassingtheentire developmentlifecycle.
- Experienceworkinginahighlyregulatedindustry.
- StrongunderstandingandexpertisewiththeAgileSDLCmethodology andframework.
- ExperiencewithDevSecOps.
- Excellenttimemanagementskillswiththeabilitytoeffectivelyprioritizeandexecute tasks.
- Passionateabouttalentdevelopmentandprovensuccesswithcoachingothersin theircareerdevelopment.
- Superiorcustomerserviceanddiplomacyskillswithstrongstakeholder managementcapabilities.
- Superiorverbalandwrittencommunicationskillsincludingstrongformal presentationabilities.
- Strategicproblemsolvingandcriticalthinkingskills.
- Provenabilitytoworkinafastpaceddynamicandmultidisciplinaryenvironment.
