Job Summary
The Industrial Operations Director is responsible for managing all activities at the production site to ensure targets are met efficiency is maximized and a positive work environment is maintained. The role oversees manufacturing technical services performance management and QHSE systems while acting as the primary link between the plant and Executive Management. The position reports directly to the General Director.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee all plant functions including production maintenance industrial methods logistics and quality control.
- Manage human financial and technical resources to meet production plans and customer requirements.
- Monitor equipment lifecycle and control operational costs including payroll consumables and infrastructure.
- Communicate corporate objectives and foster a positive labor environment.
- Define and track performance metrics to ensure optimal plant efficiency.
- Implement improvement initiatives to enhance productivity quality and workforce performance.
- Ensure compliance with product and process quality standards and environmental management systems.
- Lead investment and modernization projects including drafting specifications sourcing suppliers and cost estimation.
- Manage workforce and QHSE systems maintaining relationships with local authorities and certification bodies.
- Stay updated on technological advancements and adopt modern production solutions.
- Support employee development training and succession planning.
- Address workforce or operational disruptions that may affect production continuity.
- Oversee staffing internal mobility and professional development within the facility.
- Flexibility to work beyond standard hours including weekends and public holidays based on operational demands.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in engineering (Bachelor 4/5) or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 67 years experience in industrial production roles within the plastic manufacturing sector; prior experience in senior technical or plant leadership roles preferred.
- For internal promotion: minimum 3 years in a similar role.
- Strong ownership mindset and ability to operate independently at an executive level.
- Proven leadership skills to engage and motivate cross-functional teams.
- Strategic thinking and sound judgment in decision-making.
- Solid knowledge of QHSE standards and regulatory compliance.
- High ethical standards discretion and professionalism.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems (e.g. Sage).
- Strong written communication skills; English proficiency is an advantage.
- Energetic structured results-driven proactive and able to work under pressure.
- Compliance with all QHSE policies and procedures.
- In the directors absence responsibilities will be assumed by the most senior Production Manager at the highest grade level.
- Fluent in French with a good command of English.
