High School Computer Science TeacherGrades 812Full-Time PositionPosition SummaryArkansas Arts Academy is seeking a highly qualified and innovative educator to teach Computer Science at the high school level in grades 8 through 12. This position is responsible for delivering rigorous standards-aligned instruction that prepares students for college careers and industry pathways in technology. The ideal candidate fosters problem solving computational thinking creativity and ethical technology ResponsibilitiesPlan and deliver standards-aligned instruction in computer science courses which may include foundational computing programming robotics cybersecurity data science and related technology pathwaysTeach core concepts such as algorithms programming logic software development data structures and digital systemsIntegrate hands-on project-based learning experiencesDifferentiate instruction to meet diverse student learning needsAssess student progress and maintain accurate academic recordsPrepare students for advanced coursework certifications or concurrent credit opportunities when applicablePromote responsible digital citizenship and ethical technology practicesCollaborate with faculty to support cross-curricular integration and STEM initiativesParticipate in required meetings professional development and school eventsQualificationsBachelors degree requiredMust hold a valid Arkansas teaching license with appropriate secondary certification in Computer Science or an approved Career and Technical Education technology areaDemonstrated knowledge of computer science principles and instructional best practicesExperience with programming languages such as Python Java C or similar preferredStrong classroom management and communication skillsArkansas Arts Academy is committed to hiring educators who inspire innovation critical thinking and real-world problem solving while preparing students to thrive in an increasingly technology-driven world.
