Job summary What to expect:

As a Graduate Apprentice RA Specialist you will work on rotation in the Regulatory team to support writing and compiling regulatory technical documentation for obtaining approvals within market with 20% of your time spent in training with TOPRA as part of the apprenticeship program to obtain an MSc in Regulatory Affairs.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing compiling and submitting regulatory documents for the registration of current and new products in assigned markets.

  • Monitoring pending submissions to ensure timely approvals- communicating to management any identified delays that may impact business expectations.

  • Working with in-country representatives contractors or perform independent research to determine regulatory requirements for product registrations and pertinent regulatory intelligence in responsible regions.
  • Interacting with Regulatory Affairs personnel at regulatory agencies consultants contract manufacturers and distributors to ensure requirements are understood and submissions are complete and accurate to avoid any potential delays in approval.
  • Providing input to Regulatory Affairs Impact Documents (RAIDS) from local market perspective.
  • Exhibiting professional behaviour with internal and external business associates that reflects positively on CooperVision.
  • Acting as a resource to the regions on quality issues and propose changes to minimise risks and enhance quality reliability safety and productivity
  • Full commitment to the TOPRA apprenticeship programme for 30 months to obtain an MSc in Regulatory Affairs

The apprenticeship:

The Regulatory Affairs Apprenticeship is delivered in partnership with TOPRA the professional membership organisation for individuals working within healthcare regulatory affairs.

This programme runs for 30 months and provides masterslevel (Level 7) training in regulatory affairs. Apprentices spend 20% of their time undertaking regulatory training with the remaining 80% dedicated to onthejob experience.

Throughout the programme apprentices complete a series of assessments designed to demonstrate the knowledge skills and behaviours required. Additional assessments are carried out during the training period to reinforce learning and monitor progress.

Travel:

Position may require occasional (5%) local or international travel to CooperVision facilities government agencies Customers trade shows or training courses.

About you:

We are looking for someone with:

  • Ability to read and understand technical material.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer literacy with intermediate skill in the use of Word Excel and Outlook and some knowledge of relational database systems e.g. Agile Project Management system.
  • Ability to work effectively either alone or as part of a team. Managing time effectively and completing tasks on time with general supervision.
  • Flexibility with ability to self-manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively in multinational/multicultural environments.
  • Flexibility to work across the UK sites.
  • Full current driving license.

Experience & Education:

Required:

  • Bachelors degree in a scientific or technical discipline

  • In order to be eligible to complete the regulatory affairs apprenticeship with TOPRA candidates must have one of the following English and Maths qualifications. They will not be permitted to start the apprenticeship training until evidence of these qualifications is received.
  • GCSE at grade C or above or
  • Scottish Standard Grade Credit at level 2 or above or
  • Scottish Higher Level at grade C or above or
  • Have a pass for a functional skills level 2 or the equivalent.
  • This is an entry level graduate position. Candidates must display CooperVision values (Dedicated Innovative Friendly Partners Do the Right Thing)
