Job Description:
An Assistant Manager - Electrical in a power plant
ensures safe efficient and reliable operation of electrical systems by managing maintenance supervising technicians and overseeing electrical equipment like transformers switchgear and motors. They handle preventive maintenance troubleshoot breakdowns manage inventory and ensure regulatory compliance with safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Maintenance & Operations:Lead daily electrical maintenance activities conduct routine inspections and manage breakdown analysis.
- Supervision:Guide junior technicians plan shift schedules and ensure adherence to safety standards (IMS DISHA etc.).
- Technical Support:Perform troubleshooting on electrical faults includinglines and substations.
- System Upgrades & Digitalization:Execute digital strategies to improve operational efficiency and implement technology upgrades.
- Compliance & Safety:Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and safety protocols to mitigate hazards.
- Inventory & Documentation:Coordinate with techno-commercial departments for spare parts manage inventory replenishment and prepare technical reports.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Education:Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience:Generally 37 years of relevant experience in power plant maintenance or related industrial electrical work.
- Technical Skills:Proficiency in 3D/2D CAD software for design knowledge of SCADA/PLC systems and understanding of switchgear transformers and electrical protection systems.
- Soft Skills:Strong leadership communication and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work in high-pressure essential service situations potentially during extended hours.
- Medical certification for specialized gear (e.g. respirators) may be required.
