The House of Commons Parliamentary Precinct Operationsis currently looking to staff the Deputy Director Maintenance and Material Handling Services (MMHS) position.
This recruitment and selection process is restricted to employees working for the House of Commons Administration.
The House Administrations deputy directors carry out strategic activities through the operational delivery of programs for which they are accountable. They play a critical role within a fast-paced client-centric culture where they navigate the political realm its implications and the impact of the decisions they make and the services their teams provide to the House and its Members.
As the Deputy Director Maintenance and Material Handling Services (MMHS) you will lead the planning and delivery of custodial services material handling and other various operational services. You will bring leadership by guiding teams through continuous improvements by linking the strategic roadmap to day-to-day operations. You will also be accountable to establish service-area priorities that align with the broader goals and priorities of the House Administration. You will determine strategic business direction to best meet clients evolving needs and ensures continued service excellence. You will provide advice and recommendations to the Senior Director on operational issues and opportunities.
The role is also accountable for the MMHS Service Catalogue including defining services monitoring service levels assessing client satisfaction and working with partners to address gaps and improve service delivery. As a member of the Building Support Services management team you will contribute to the development of policies standards service agreements and performance management frameworks.
This is one of five Deputy Director Positions within the Parliamentary Precinct Operations management team you will bring strong leadership strategic foresight and a proven ability to build inclusive high-performing teams in dynamic unionized environments. - Knowledge of building design and construction documentation and of applicable corporate policies legislation and regulations including occupational health and safety requirements;
- Knowledge of the organisational structure priorities and policies of the House of Commons including the mandate and responsibilities of Building Support Services as well as an understanding of clients business environments;
- Experience preparing business strategies resourcing plans and project plans to support current and future service delivery requirements;
- Experience in the planning and organization of service delivery for custodial services event planning logistical support and material handling services;
- Experience managing financial material and human resources while ensuring compliance with collective agreements and terms and conditions of employment while overseeing planned and urgent service demands;
- Experience developing workflows processes and practices in a cross functional environment to ensure high-quality service delivery adequate staffing and effective problem resolution;
- Experience collaborating with colleagues and partners to identify operational and change issues and support coordinated planning and continuous improvement.
Assets:
- Knowledge of locksmithing services and changing technologies;
- Experience in and knowledge of supply chain management materiel and warehouse management and the associated planning research analysis and evaluation methodologies and strategies
