Responsibilities include: operating asphalt kettle and tool heather; assisting in the clean-up of job site after asphaltic repairs; setting up job-sites in a safe manner; and performing related duties as required.
The essential functions and duties of the position include:
- Spreads and rakes asphaltic mixtures
- Irons asphalt to obtain a compact and smooth surface.
- Clean cut-outs and prepares sub-grades before paving
- Assists in clean-up of job site after asphaltic repairs
- Sets up job site (including cones barricades high-rises and signs) in a safe manner
- Completes standard job reports
- May operate the screed on an asphalt paver
- Will be the grounds person on asphalt milling machine
- May operate asphalt kettle and tool heater
- Drives a vehicle to work sites.
- Perform other functions outlined in the 7404 Asphalt Finisher job classification
Desirable Qualifications
The stated desirable qualifications may be considered at the end of the selection process when candidates are referred for hiring.

- Experience with Volvo Pavers
Qualifications :
1. Education: None
2. Experience: Two (2) years of verifiable experience in street paving and repair work as an asphalt worker.
3. License and Certification: Possession of a valid California Drivers License
