Girl Scouts - North Carolina Coastal Pines is seeking an experienced and dynamic Manager of Individual Gifts to join its local council! Girl Scouts - North Carolina Coastal Pines represents 41 counties within North Carolina. Girl Scouts - North Carolina Coastal Pines in partnership with Girl Scouts of the USA has a mission to build girls of courage confidence and character who make the world a better place.
The Manager of Individual Gifts is accountable for developing commitments and relationships with individual gift prospects as well as identifying new prospects. An ability to connect with donors and clearly communicate our organizations mission is key.
This position reports to the Chief Development Officer. The Manager of Individual Gifts will work closely with the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations and Manager of Donor Relations to build and maintain funding partnerships and provide support to the councils overall fundraising ideal candidate is a strategic relationship-builder with strong organizational skills attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
This is a hybrid role NOT a fully remote position. The selected candidate must reside in North Carolina.
Major Responsibilities:
Direct Solicitation of Individual Donors
- Lead the Annual Fund campaign with a focus on individual giving including direct mail appeals email marketing giving days and challenge matches.
- Prepare campaign collateral; manage donor data including list segmentation variable data merges and stewardship communications.
- Manage a portfolio of 75100 individual donors and prospects.
- Identify cultivate solicit and steward annual fund prospects capable of making four and five-figure gifts.
- Conduct direct face-to-face solicitations and support the Fund Development team with major gift asks as needed.
- Develop and submit funding proposals; coordinate presentations and required application materials.
- Partner with the Chief Development Officer on strategy and management of affinity groups such as: The Daisy Chain The Fund Development Committee and Juliette Gordon Low Society.
- Assist with donor stewardship efforts including acknowledgements recognition communications and incentive distribution.
- Support donors in achieving their philanthropic goals while aligning contributions with the councils strategic priorities.
Supports All Aspects of Councils Fund Development Strategy
- Utilize donor database systems and wealth screening tools to track cultivate and advance prospects.
- Participate actively in moves management planning and major gift pipeline development.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Fund Development Marketing & Communications (MarCom) and other teams to meet fundraising goals.
- Stay informed on current trends in fundraising and Girl Scout programming.
- Champion the councils and GSUSAs commitments to diversity equity inclusion racial justice and belonging.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
Position Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in fundraising communications sales or nonprofit management.
- 35 years of professional experience in fundraising and/or sales.
- Demonstrated success soliciting and closing individual gifts preferably $5000.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook Word and Excel.
- Experience with donor databases and fundraising tools (Raisers Edge Salesforce Qualtrics wealth screening software and Looker a plus).
- Commitment to the mission vision and values of Girl Scouts and willingness to become a registered member.
- Service-oriented team player with the ability to work effectively across all organizational levels.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Valid drivers license and reliable access to an automobile.
- Ability to travel throughout the councils 41-county service area.
