The Internship Experience
As a WM Intern you wont be sitting on the sidelines youll be in the mix. You will work alongside experienced professionals on real projects that make an impact for WM. Youll get real-world experience in key aspects of our business including a meaningful project youll own and present to senior leaders at the end of the summer while discovering what were all about. Outside of your core work youll join skill-building workshops connect with leaders through executive roundtables and build community with fellow interns from across the country. About the Learning & Leadership Development Team
This internship is part of the Learning & Leadership Development team recognized for its innovative mindset collaborative culture and strong commitment to this role you will have the opportunity to create meaningful value for business partners while contributing to high-impact initiatives across multiple functions. You will gain insight into how operations run behind the scenes and play a role in driving purpose-driven work. From analyzing data and developing ideas to presenting solutions and improving processes your contributions will have a tangible impact.
An L&D intern would provide meaningful value by supporting high-impact work across curriculum design needs analysis learning operations event execution and data reporting. You would contribute tangible deliverables such as a completed training module a targeted gap analysis and learning roadmap improved LMS usability through content curation successful execution of professional development events and data-driven insights through an L&D dashboard. This role enables the team to advance critical learning initiatives more efficiently while ensuring operational excellence and improved learner experience. At the same time it allows full-time staff to focus on strategic priorities while developing a future-ready L&D talent pipeline.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Uses problem solving skills determines problems and understand fundamental parts of the problem.
- Conducts analysis as directed and prepares and delivers insights and recommendations based on analysis.
- Synthesizes findings and draws conclusions from analyses and makes oral/written recommendations to supervisor and/or manager.
- Executes tasks directly related to functional projects and/or process improvements.
- Communicates issues and roadblocks related to areas of responsibility.

III. Qualifications
A. Required Qualifications
- Interns must have a High school diploma or GED (accredited) and be pursuing or have recently completed a Bachelors degree (accredited) in Human Resources. Organizational Development Business Administration Psychology or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and generate insights
- Effective written and verbal communication skills including the ability to present ideas clearly.
B. Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with learning platforms (e.g. LinkedIn Learning LMS/LXP tools)
Experience creating and managing SharePoint sites and content libraries
Ability to curate learning content and build learning paths or playlists
