SUMMARY: The Behavioral Health Office Manager will demonstrate leadership and organize prioritize and coordinate the multiple activities and tasks of the behavioral health team while supporting motivating and sustaining a team-oriented culture. The Behavioral Health Office Manager will excel in interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to follow logical and timely approaches to solving daily operational problems in coordination and under supervision of the Behavioral Health Office Manager must be able to travel to other locations as Behavioral Health Office Manager will demonstrate the values consistent with Squirrel Hill Health Centers mission and will work with the SHHC team to make the Center a Medical Home for patients of all backgrounds.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage day-to-day operations of the behavioral health department ensuring an efficient workflow
- Oversee scheduling patient flow and reception duties to optimize patient access to services.
- Monitors patient schedules and provides assistance to co-workers to maintain a smooth and efficient patient flow for the behavioral health clinic.
- Works with SHHC leadership team to implement and sustain initiatives to reduce patient no-show rates and maximize patient access to behavioral health care.
- Oversees insurance authorizations as needed.
- Under the direction of the COO creates work schedules and patient scheduling templates. Ensures that all staff are informed of and adhere to work schedules.
- Coordinate communication between therapists physicians psychiatrists and administrative staff to ensure seamless care.
- Under the direction of the COO implements special projects as assigned such as implementation of virtual check-in check-out for behavioral health patients.
- Serve as a liaison between patients and the behavioral health team addressing any concerns or feedback.
- Ensure that all patient information is handled with confidentiality and integrity (HIPAA/PHI compliance).
- In collaboration with others promote patient engagement and satisfaction initiatives.
- Works with Human Resources to recruit interview select and orient qualified employees for BH support positions.
- Supervises trains and reviews Behavioral Health Practice Support staff
- Ensures prompt and accurate timekeeping by staff.
- Completes annual training required and procedural signoffs at the direction of the COO.
- Read and respond to work emails Teams messages Ring Central and other software platforms that support daily operations at SHHC.
- Attend departmental and organization meetings as required.
- Present on site full-time and available to staff
- Foster a spirit of teamwork ability to adapt to changing conditions willingness to learn and receive feedback.
- Other Duties as assigned by the COO and executive team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA/BS in relevant field or equivalent on the job training.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in behavioral health setting preferably in the out-patient FQHC setting.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Excellent communication interpersonal and computer skills.
- Ability to work in a busy multi-cultural environment maintaining flexible hours.
- Ability to help foster growth of a multi-site community health center.
- Knowledge of a second language a plus.
- All required immunizations including annual flu and COVID.
- Must be committed to serving poor and underserved populations.
