Lakeside Surgery Center has been serving Orange Osceola and Seminole Counties for over 60 years and is proud to be the leading ophthalmic surgery center in the community. Lakeside Surgery Center is a four (4) room free standing ambulatory surgery center that is committed to the delivery of personalized eye care of the highest quality. Not only do we value our patients but we are also passionate about our staff. Our amazing leadership team is committed to cultivating and maintaining an employee centric work environment where every employee has a voice and a platform to share their ideas and suggestions are encouraged and incentivized to broaden their education and training and are invited to participate in the numerous employee activities offered monthly.
Lakeside Surgery Center is affiliated with Ascend Vision Partners premier network of Ophthalmic Medical Services.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assesses instructs & prepares patients prior to surgery
- Ensures that operative and informed consents are signed and correct
- Takes and records vital statistics of patients to ensure readiness for surgical procedure
- Initiates intravenous lines (IV) and ensures patients are informed about procedure(s)
- Assesses patients post-operative condition
- Monitors vital signs and other measurements of progress meeting discharge criteria
- Logs all findings in patient files
- Responds to patient questions and ensures patient comfort
- Monitors patients for condition changes reporting any changes to physician
- Perform intervention duties during post-operative emergencies
Requirements
Education & Experience:
- Candidate must demonstrate proficiency in acute care nursing knowledge and skills be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
- Current Florida state license to practice as a registered nurse required.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience as a registered nurse in an ambulatory surgery or operating room required. Ophthalmology experience preferred.
- Basic Life Saving (BLS) certification required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
