Purpose:

Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is recruiting for a Summer Intern position in the Immunotoxicology (iTox) Group located in La Jolla CA.

Join us for a dynamic Summer Intern position within the Immunotoxicology Group contributing to cutting-edge studies regarding drug development safety and efficacy. Engage in a spectrum of experimental approaches spanning in vitro and ex vivo pharmacology. The ideal candidate will have a general familiarity with basic laboratory techniques with a preference given to students with a biological background or experience with cell-based immune-assays.

This unique opportunity allows undergraduates or recent graduates to thrive in a cross-functional pharmaceutical laboratory while gaining hands-on experience. They will collaborate with a seasoned team and actively participate in meticulous planning execution analysis and reporting of experiments. Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Completion of Undergraduate Freshman year at an accredited University is required.
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Immunology Biology Molecular Biology Pharmaceutical Sciences and related life science or related fields.
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher which is reflective of all college coursework.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint).
  • Proven hands-on laboratory experience with a track record of productivity is highly valued but a positive attitude and unyielding motivation are equally crucial.
  • Demonstrate self-motivation reliability and exceptional problem-solving skills showcasing a readiness to learn and contribute positively to the team.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team showcasing strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential with a keen interest in learning and contributing to the dynamic field of immunology and drug development safety.

Permanently authorized to work in the U.S. must not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g. H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future. Students currently on CPT OPT or STEM OPT usually requires future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship.

The expected pay range for this position is between $23.00 per hour and $51.50 per hour but will be based on candidates program year discipline degree and/or -Ops/Interns are eligible to participate in Company sponsored employee medical benefits in accordance with the terms of the -Ops and Interns are eligible for the following sick time benefits: up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington up to 56 hours per calendar -Ops and Interns are eligible to participate in the Companys consolidated retirement plan (pension).
