Responsibilities:
- Safety on the job for the students and other instructors.
- One-on-one instruction in the use of a cut-to-length processor & forwarder logging equipment.
- Maintenance of Processor/Forwarder.
- Tree identification.
- Silviculture plans.
- Trail layout.
- Proficient in cut-to-length processor computer programming.
- Must have knowledge of commercial logging merchandising.
Qualifications:Mechanized Equipment Operations: Kennebec Valley Community College is looking to hire five assistant instructors for its Mechanized Logging Operations and Forestry Trucking Program (MLOFT). Applicants should demonstrate significant professional logging equipment operations experience in one or more of the following logging trades: cut-to-length processor forwarder feller-buncher grapple skidder stroke delimber crane/slasher CDL Truck with self-loader. Candidates should be comfortable working with students and sharing their knowledge and experience with them. Duties will include: one-on-one instruction in the use of logging equipment maintenance tree identification silviculture plans and trail layout. The class is scheduled to operate from June to November 2026 in Fairfield and the successful candidate will be hired on a 23-week contract. Salary based upon experience.
