Each year Volvo Cars welcome students as summer workers to our sites in Sweden. Spending a few weeks with us is a great way for you to get an insight to what life at Volvo Cars can be like and gives you a basic understanding of our operations. It also provides you with a strong network in our organization which can be of value in your future career. The number of summer work positions and work areas vary from year to year.

At Outbound Logistics you are part of a global supply chain team that makes sure that the cars we build are delivered to our customers at required destinations at expected lead time. To make this happen we secure that all outgoing transportation is established and executed cost efficiently and with exact precision to the entire Volvo Cars organization. What youll do
The purpose of the central function is to ensure outbound distribution for our cars from our plants to our dealers in Europe. This function is critical to manage the timely shipping of cars on a daily basis. We are mandated and have a commitment to deliver on time on budget with a service mind-set.
The role Transport Operations Summer worker is operational with responsibility across a wide range of business areas within Volvo Cars and is based in Gothenburg Sweden.
You will monitor and drive carrier transport performance and lead Carrier Management to improve operational performance and interact with stakeholders within Volvo Cars and Importers and drive process improvements.
You will also Monitor KPIs of appointed carriers and carry out regular reviews Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers and internal stakeholders to facilitate a positive working environment ensure support to colleagues when needed/requested and contribute to a positive team working environment Execute car deliveries for Volvo Cars and affiliates.
What youll bring
The ideal candidate is a student with focus on logistics and have a good understanding of the European transport market. You will need to be a quick learner and goo interpersonal skills and be fluent in English as this is our cooperate language.
We believe you have a strong knowledge and experience in MS Excel and have proven ability to be accurate and detail oriented. You have your strength in prioritization and also to work creatively and analytically with a problem-solving approach.
