About the role
VMCH Disability Services has been interested in finding innovative ways to support people with a disability for building skills experience and learning to support them on their pathway to independence.
We are a social enterprise café based on-site at the Star of the Sea Aged Care home. We have a strong connection and beautiful relationship with the residents and staff of the facility. This is an amazing opportunity to come in and join a growing team of support workers and hospitality professionals.
Our ideal person will help grow the café and be part of café staff & Disability Support Workers team to provide and deliver the highest levels of customer and hospitality service at our Pathways to Possibilities Learning Hub Café.
About you
As a Café DSW worker you will be responsible to assist and support the daily operations of the café to be a central place for good food & coffee all while helping your local community live more independent lives.
You will have strong local community connections and networks to engage and enlist NDIS participants to join the program.
Furthermore you will also supervise and provide hands-on mentoring to young people participating in our trainee program to build their self-confidence barista and customer service skills and employability qualities. This position will ultimately support NDIS participants develop their personal & professional skills that will improve their independence and chances of securing employment.
