Aurora Geosciences Ltd. is a mineral exploration consulting company that has been operating for over 40 years in the North. We have offices in Whitehorse and Yellowknife.
Reporting to the Operations Manager thegeophysicistwould be responsible to work with appropriate clients to organize supervise and participate in mineral exploration programs across northern Canada. Candidates should be prepared to work in a professional office environment conducting research data processing and writing technical reports as well as being physically fit and capable of working in remote and rugged areas under various climate conditions for extended periods of time. Candidates should also be prepared to travel extensively.
Responsibilities could include:
Direct and supervise crews
Provide training and supervision to field crews
To prepare field technical assessment and other reports
Ensure company and client operational and safety standards are adhered to
The ideal candidate will have:
Bachelors Degree in a geoscience field
3-5 years of relevant field experience specifically Magnetics Induced Polarization and Gravity Surveys experience
Previous experience in Northern Canada would be an asset
Be in good health and physically fit
Comfortable and have experience working in all weather remote camp settings
The knowledge or have the ability to quickly learn any survey that AGL has to offer to its clients
