Description

The role of the Manager of Product Managers is to act as a hands-on coach mentor teacher and evaluator in ensuring that all levels of Product Managers can effectively execute their responsibilities which are to ensure coordination and visibility among all product initiatives across all customer segments. This person must know the job of Product Manager inside and out and be able to lead the team in creating printed and digital products that add the greatest value for the customers.

Customers expect this role to be The Expert in understanding executing and teaching effective product management responsibilities and skills that result in developing other effective Product Managers. This role also ensures that product initiatives are well coordinated and not managed as independent activities.

This is a people manager level role.

The purpose of this position is to help bring Gods children unto Jesus Christ by increasing understanding of His Church and its divinely appointed responsibilities of assisting in gathering Israel on both sides of the veil and preparing the world for the Second Coming of the Savior.

This is a hybrid role that works in the office at least three days a week.



Responsibilities

People Managerment:

  • Manage coach and mentor at least 3 product managers in managing life-cycle management of IT products.
  • Resolve complex issues that escalate beyond the scope of the product managers responsibilities.
  • Regularly manage the work of other employees (may include mixed workforce).
  • Responsible in partnership with HR to hire or fire employees and recommends advancement promotion or any other change of status of employees within their reporting line.

Product Management: Manage the product life cycle.

  • Manage product awareness to extend the user base.
  • Monitor product performance and user satisfaction.
  • Manage product financial including total cost of ownership. Ensure adequate resources for maintaining the product.
  • Manage the product road map of future enhancements and the ultimate retirement of the product.

Customer Analysis: Understand the market. Understand customer needs.

  • Research industry best practices.
  • Identify product opportunities that meet customer needs.
  • Business Case Creation: Define requirements.
  • Explore product alternatives analyze feasibility define and plan the product.

Development: Develop the product.

  • Participate with development teams that develop the product.
  • Develop training and communication plans.
  • Deployment and communication: Deploy the product.
  • Manage the communications and training plans associated with product introduction and rollout.
  • Ensure smooth transition from development phase into the operational phase.


Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelors degree in a business and/or technology discipline such as computer science or a related field.
  • 6 years experience industry track record.
  • Experience developing business plans and requirements that shape the development and delivery of services to customers.
  • Experience managing multiple employees.
  • Ability to perform and lead others through complex customer research and analysis of diverse cultures.
  • Experience managing product/services; managing relationships with vendors and other business partners.
  • Ability to deal with cross-divisional cross-departmental cross-functional and cross-cultural differences; and lead cross-functional and interdepartmental product or project teams.
  • Ability to define and document work processes.
  • Ability to lead a team of highly educated and skilled managers.
  • Ability to develop product communication and marketing materials.
  • Ability to write user stories.
  • Ability to prepare succinct product presentation of leadership.

To successfully perform the essential functions of the job there may be physical requirements which need to be met such as sitting for long periods of time and using computer monitors/equipment.

Preferred:

  • Masters degree in a business and/or technology discipline such as computer science or a related field
