Role Overview
The DT Technician will provide essential technical support across Design & Technology disciplines including Resistant Materials Product Design and Engineering.
Key responsibilities include:
Preparing materials and equipment for practical lessons
Maintaining machinery and workshop tools
Conducting routine safety checks
Managing stock control and ordering supplies
Supporting teachers during practical sessions
Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
Assisting with risk assessments
Maintaining workshop organisation and cleanliness
Supporting GCSE coursework preparation
Monitoring equipment servicing schedules
This role requires strong practical knowledge and attention to safety.
Design & Technology Department
The department delivers KS3KS5 courses and benefits from well-equipped workshops and CAD facilities. The technician is central to maintaining safe and effective practical learning.
Candidate Requirements
Experience working in a workshop or technical environment
