Design & Technology is a popular subject within the school with strong uptake at KS4 and a growing KS5 cohort. The department delivers a broad curriculum across Product Design Resistant Materials and engineering-based projects supported by well-equipped workshops and CAD/CAM facilities.
The Role
Teaching Design & Technology across KS3 and KS4 with KS5 depending on specialism
Delivering engaging practical and theory-based lessons that develop design thinking
Supporting pupils with NEA coursework and examination preparation
Promoting creativity technical precision and problem-solving skills
Ensuring workshop health & safety compliance and risk assessment procedures
Monitoring pupil progress and implementing targeted strategies to raise attainment
Contributing to curriculum development and departmental planning
Supporting enrichment activities such as STEM initiatives or design competitions
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
A degree in Design & Technology or a related discipline
Experience teaching DT at secondary level
Strong workshop knowledge and health & safety awareness
High expectations for pupil engagement and achievement
A proactive organised and collaborative teaching approach
