A busy secondary school in Portslade is seeking a hard-working School Caretaker. This is a fast-paced role suited to someone who enjoys being active and working in a bustling environment near the Brighton coast.
The Snapshot
Location: Portslade Brighton & Hove (Excellent local bus and rail links)
Salary: Brighton & Hove City Council Scale
Contract: Full-time Permanent
Shift Pattern: Rotating early and late shifts to cover school opening and evening lettings.
Key Responsibilities
General Maintenance: Performing essential DIY tasks to maintain the fabric of the building.
Safety Monitoring: Regular checks of the fire alarm system playground equipment and perimeter fencing.
Site Cleanliness: Managing waste disposal and ensuring the external grounds are kept to a high standard.
Support: Assisting the School Business Manager with deliveries and the distribution of resources across the school.
Candidate Profile
Team Player: A positive attitude and willingness to support teachers and administrative staff.
Adaptability: Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Safety Conscious: A strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations within a public or educational building.
