The Role

• Teaching Product Design across KS3 and KS4 with KS5 depending on experience

• Delivering engaging practical and theory-based lessons that develop design thinking and problem-solving skills

• Supporting pupils with NEA coursework and portfolio preparation

• Promoting creativity innovation and high-quality technical outcomes

• Ensuring workshop health & safety compliance and maintaining risk assessment procedures

• Contributing to curriculum development and departmental planning

• Monitoring pupil progress and implementing strategies to raise attainment

• Supporting enrichment activities such as STEM initiatives or design competitions

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• A degree in Product Design Engineering or a related discipline

• Experience teaching Product Design at secondary level

• Strong workshop knowledge and familiarity with CAD/CAM systems

• A clear understanding of examination requirements and NEA expectations

• High expectations for pupil engagement behaviour and achievement

• A professional organised and forward-thinking approach
