Job Title: Operating Engineer (High Pressure Steam Plant)
Pay: $36 $41 per hour (Contract-to-Hire)
Schedule: 2nd Shift 6:00 PM 6:00 AM Rotating Schedule
Week 1: Monday Tuesday Friday Saturday Sunday
Week 2: Wednesday Thursday
(Rotates weekly Includes 8 hours of built-in overtime per biweekly paycheck)
On-call availability required
Parking: Free onsite

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Operating Engineer with strong high-pressure steam experience to support a central plant environment. This role is responsible for the operation maintenance and repair of critical building systems ensuring safe reliable and continuous plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and maintain high-pressure steam boilers and plant systems
Manage emergency generator operations and complex switching procedures
Maintain main switchgear systems
Support Reverse Osmosis (RO) and Deionized (DI) water systems
Inspect troubleshoot and repair boilers chillers HVAC equipment and infrastructure
Perform scheduled plant tours and respond to after-hours emergencies
Oversee and support maintenance mechanics with PMs and repairs
Maintain water treatment programs and engineering spaces
Update and manage documentation in CMMS
Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and building codes
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid drivers license
Minimum 3 years experience as a Building Operating Engineer in a high-pressure steam plant
Strong hands-on experience with steam systems (highly preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a 1200-ton centrifugal chiller plant
Knowledge of building automation systems and Direct Digital Controls (DDC)
Familiarity with fire alarm and fire suppression systems
Strong understanding of industry maintenance best practices
