Position Summary

The Social Work Supervisor will oversee daily operations of social workers and community workers within Staten Island Housing under the Selfhelp Active Services for Aging Model (SHASAM).

This role focuses on supporting housing stability reducing social isolation supervising staff ensuring compliance with agency policies and maintaining high-quality case management services for residents.

Minimum Requirements (Must Have)

MSW required (LMSW not required)
Minimum 2 years supervisory experience
Supervisory experience in:
- Homeless Shelter (most preferred) OR
- Supportive Housing OR
- Substance Abuse setting
Valid drivers license and vehicle required
Comfortable working fully onsite (5 days/week)

Strong preference for candidates living in Staten Island or nearby NJ due to full onsite requirement.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise social workers and community workers in case management and daily operations
Provide staff supervision performance evaluations and training guidance
Oversee care plans and comprehensive assessments
Review case records for compliance and service quality
Resolve complex client issues
Participate in case conferences and interdepartmental coordination
Ensure adherence to agency policies and contractual mandates
Substitute for Director when needed
Maintain compliance with required trainings (HIPAA OSHA Compliance IT Security etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supervising in a homeless shelter setting
Housing stability program experience
Experience with vulnerable populations (aging mental health substance abuse)
Strong documentation and case management skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office

Working Conditions

Must frequently lift up to 10 lbs and occasionally up to 25 lbs
Possible exposure to unsanitary conditions or outdoor weather
Potential exposure to pathogens in client homes
