Job Description:

The Buyer will contribute to strategic sourcing drive compliance and build strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage requisitions and ad-hoc procurement requests in line with agreed service levels.

• Source goods and services to deliver best value balancing cost lead time and business priorities.

• Support departmental KPIs including: Spend Under Control; Under Contract; Preferred Suppliers; Programmes of Work

• Collaborate with Category Managers to support category strategies and execute subcategory tenders.

• Engage with stakeholders to understand requirements and select the most suitable procurement methods.

• Monitor and manage supplier performance to ensure business needs are consistently met.

• Maintain procurement systems such as SAP Ariba and contribute to process improvements.

Knowledge Skills and Experience:

• A minimum of 3 years experience in a buying or procurement role.

• Experience of engineering procurement and project buying.

• Progress toward or completion of MCIPS is desirable.

• Strong analytical and interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate and remain calm under pressure.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook Word PowerPoint Excel).

• Experience with SAP Ariba is a distinct advantage.

• Ability to interpret business needs and develop clear specifications and RFx documents.

• A collaborative mindset and the creativity to solve problems and drive value.
