A leading acute care hospital in Anchorage Alaska is seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) to join its dynamic cardiovascular services team. Position Summary

The Cardiovascular Cath Lab RN provides direct patient care to adult patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac and vascular procedures. This role collaborates closely with cardiologists technologists and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe efficient and high-quality procedural care.

The RN is responsible for patient assessment procedural support monitoring sedation administration (as appropriate) and post-procedure recovery management.

Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-procedure patient assessments and provide education regarding cardiac and vascular procedures.

  • Prepare and maintain Cath Lab equipment and sterile field.

  • Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures including cardiac catheterizations PCI and vascular interventions.

  • Administer and monitor moderate sedation per hospital policy.

  • Continuously monitor hemodynamic status and respond to changes in patient condition.

  • Provide post-procedure recovery care including sheath removal and monitoring for complications.

  • Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record.

  • Participate in on-call rotation as required.

  • Ensure compliance with infection control safety and regulatory standards.

Common Procedures May Include

  • Diagnostic Cardiac Catheterizations

  • Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI)

  • Pacemaker/ICD procedures

  • Peripheral vascular interventions

  • Structural heart procedures (as applicable)

Qualifications

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Experience

  • Minimum 12 years of acute care RN experience required

  • Prior Cath Lab ICU ER or critical care experience preferred

Licensure & Certifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (State of Alaska or compact eligible)

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Required

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Required

  • Moderate Sedation certification (if required by facility policy)
