The Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) is part of AWS Sales Marketing and Global Services (SMGS) which is responsible for driving revenue adoption and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. We work backwards from our customers most complex and business critical problems to build and execute go-to-market plans that turn AWS ideas into multi-billion-dollar businesses. WWSO teams include business development specialist and technical solutions architecture. As part of WWSO youll provide expertise across the entire life cycle of an AWS customer initiative from developing ideas for new services to accelerating the adoption of established businesses. In this role you will help customers in Japan leverage Amazon Bedrock Amazon AgentCore Amazon SageMaker and other AWS AI services to transform their businesses. You will work with enterprise customers across industries to identify use cases develop scalable adoption patterns and drive the growth of AWSs AI business in Japan.
Key job responsibilities
Own the GTM strategy and execution for the AI/ML Domain in Japan collaborating with Sales Partners Marketing and other Specialists
Leverage your expertise in AI and Machine Learning to understand customer problems and enable field teams to solve them
Drive adoption of AWS AI/ML services by identifying use cases and converting them into scalable repeatable motions
Lead cross-functional initiatives to expand markets develop programs and identify new opportunities
Develop and execute goals to drive long term growth while meeting revenue and non-revenue KPIs
Bring customer data and market signals back to Worldwide teams to inform product priorities
Deliver monthly/quarterly business reviews and operational planning documents
Drive scale through external partners and cross-functional collaboration across Sales Solution Architecture Marketing Partners and Training
A day in the life
As a AI/ML GTM Specialist in Japan your days are dynamic and customer-focused. You might start your morning reviewing customer engagement data and preparing for a strategic meeting with a financial services client exploring Amazon Bedrock for document processing automation. Mid-morning you collaborate with Solution Architects and account teams to design a proof-of-concept for a manufacturing customer interested in using SageMaker for predictive maintenance.
Afternoons often involve cross-functional collaborationworking with Marketing on an upcoming GenAI workshop partnering with the Partner team to enable system integrators on AWS AI/ML services or joining customer calls to discuss use cases and technical requirements. You regularly analyze market trends and customer feedback to identify patterns that inform both your regional GTM strategy and product team priorities.
You also dedicate time to enablement activitiescreating reusable assets delivering internal training sessions and mentoring field teams on GenAI/ML positioning. Your week includes business reviews where you track progress against goals share customer insights and adjust strategies based on whats working in the market.
The role requires balancing strategic thinking with hands-on customer engagement all while building the foundation for long-term AI/ML adoption across Japan.

About the team
This position is part of the Amazon Specialist and Partner Organization (ASP). Specialists own the end-to-end go-to-market strategy for their respective technology domains providing the business and technical expertise to help our customers succeed. Partner teams own the strategy recruiting development and growth of our key technology and consulting partners. Together they provide our customers with the expertise and scale needed to build innovative solutions for their most complex challenges.
- Speak write and read fluently in Japanese at a business level or above (N1)
- 7 years of Go-To-Market Business Development Sales or Consulting experience
- 7 years of working with Data & AI related technologies including but not limited to AI/ML GenAI Analytics Database and/or Storage experience
- Experience with AWS AI/ML services such as Amazon Bedrock Amazon SageMaker or other AWS data and analytics services
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills with experience communicating to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Established track record of credibility as a technology advisor with customer executives (e.g. CEO COO CIO CTO CMO) and Line of Business Leaders.
- Experience and success in negotiating complex deals with customers and partners.
- Experience in a heavily matrixed sales environment including developing implementing managing and executing go-to-market growth initiatives and sales motions.
- Deep understanding of cloud technologies including public and hybrid cloud platforms.
- Technical background in engineering computer science or MIS a plus.
