The Entrepreneurship & Innovation Section (E&I) at Amsterdam Business School (ABS) University of Amsterdam (UvA) is looking for an Assistant Professor in Entrepreneurship & Innovation (tenure track).The E&I section is an internationally recognized department with a strong focus on high-quality research teaching and impact. This is what you will be doing

Working as an Assistant Professor in the E&I section at ABS involves developing your own research agenda that aligns with the sections focus on entrepreneurship and innovation while allowing ample scope for intellectual independence and scholarly growth publishing in top journals teaching courses and supervising bachelors and/or masters theses. Specifically 50% of the time will be for research while the teaching load will maximally take up the other 50% of time. Research is expected to target top international journals especially in the fields of entrepreneurship and innovation. The teaching load is reasonable (two to three courses) and can be concentrated both in terms of time and preparation. Teaching will be at the graduate (MSc) the undergraduate (BSc) level or in the executive program.

The Tenure-track Assistant Professor will be offered a six-year tenure track position as Assistant professor. Upon meeting the criteria for tenure we will offer a permanent contract as Associate Professor. The gross monthly salary during the first three years will be depending on experience between 4728 and 6433 (salary scale 11) based on 38 hours per week (16.3% holiday and end-year payments). After a positive evaluation the maximum salary becomes 7297 (salary scale 12). This is based on 38 hours per week and in accordance with the salary scales. A temporary reduction in income tax (equal to 30% of taxable salary) may apply to non-Dutch candidates.TheCollective Labour Agreement for Dutch universitiesapplies.

The E&I section led by Prof. Martin Obschonka houses over 25 scholars from junior (tenure track) to leading senior researchers as well as PhD candidates. Faculty regularly publish in top management entrepreneurship innovation and psychology journals every year. Our education portfolio is based on two interrelated management challenges: creating and growing new ventures and realizing and capturing our teaching we promote a challenge-based experiential learning environment to develop entrepreneurial mindsets and innovative leaders for the future. The section is very collegial and diverse its scholars come from 14 different nationalities with a wide range of backgrounds. The section is closely embedded in the Amsterdam entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem which is widely recognized as one of Europes leading hubs.
