The People Analytics team provides insights that drive outcomes. Our mission is to empower all leaders and HR stakeholders within Cardinal Health to make data-driven people strategy decisions quickly easily and with confidence.

The People Analytics team develops proactive partnerships with key stakeholders to promote an analytical mindset as well as continuously refine the ways in which insights are delivered. The team leverages a variety of business intelligence tools including Workday to provide foundational insights through dashboards and executive scorecards as well as respond to ad-hoc requests and questions.

Job Summary

As a Data Analyst you are responsible for contributing to the data product portfolio stakeholder consulting engagements and participating in technical projects. You will help translate business needs into insights leveraging data manipulation exploration and visualization techniques to build easily understood custom reporting solutions directly within the HRIS system of record (Workday). You will also partner closely with the People Data Science team to help HR and the business answer key questions related to people and talent strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build custom reports and dashboards of various formats which can be quickly and easily understood
  • Test troubleshoot and optimize reporting structures to ensure data accuracy and reliable reporting
  • Create clarify document and maintain definitions for data points used throughout reporting
  • Provide custom strategic and actionable insights across dashboards scorecards and ad hoc analyses
  • Translate business needs and concerns into specific measurable and actionable insights
  • Leverage data exploration and analysis to design and build efficient and effective reporting solutions within Workday
  • Proactively collaborate with peers and stakeholders to seek and understand needs and develop solutions to fit them
  • Independently make recommendations on ways to implement and improve new and existing processes
  • Serve in a consultative role to enable HR to solve problems and make data driven decisions
  • Guide blended teams of individuals through various projects to accomplish technical data-centric goals

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in related field or equivalent work experience preferred
  • 4 years of experience in related field(s) preferred
  • Experience with Workday report writing strongly preferred (experience with HRIS/HCM systems required)
  • Experience with relational databases understanding of data query and blending strongly preferred (e.g. SQL)
  • Experience in data visualization and in dashboard development via analysis tools preferred (e.g. Tableau PowerBI)
  • Previous Human Resources or People Analytics experience strongly preferred
  • Understanding of spreadsheet (i.e. Microsoft Excel Google Drive) formulas and referencing preferred
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to present information in spoken written or visual form to a variety of audiences from internal teams to senior leadership required
